The game cock cider like the bird is hardy and dauntless in character and won’t take long to rustle your feathers. Your only instinct is to try the plucky sweet cider, that mates well with the game of the land.

500ml bottle @ the 2nd Shrewsbury Bottle Share. Brought by Luc for my girlfriend to have as we swigged and discussed some strange and wonderful beers. I took a sip or two of this and found it to be typically undrinkable Gwatkins, undiluted cordial sweet with a touch of farmyard funk.

Bottle from the Hop Pocket, Herefordshire, summer 2011 consumed at Morris practice Monday 21 November 2011 No carbonation on pour, difficult to be precise on colour as this was poured into patterned plastic cups at Morris practice. Appley indeed on the nose and in the mouth from the off, but rather too sweet for my liking, not the best review but to be fair not the best cider from Gwatkins either, this along with the others in this 4.5% range of farm animal named ciders are aiming for a different market than the more unusual Gwatkins ciders one can find, but its not bad and far better than most other ciders that can be found in pubs which I am told is the market for this cider.
