A light pale ale single hopped with American Citra hops giving the classic grapefruit, lychee and gooseberry aromas this hop is famous for. The first beer we brewed in March 2013 and a firm favourite when it returns! This beer is so special to us that we only brew it maybe twice per year.

Cask at Liverpool Beer Fest 2019. Golden colour, white foam head and citra hop aroma. Taste is malt, caramel, with citrusy hop and astringent bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. Quite drinkable

(Cask at Gallow’s Bird Real Ale Festival ’15) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was small and white. Aroma had cat’s pee, sweetness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, cow shit, sweetness, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. Unpleasant.

Cask @ Gallows Bird Real Ale Festival 2015
Pours orange with a small head. Aroma of gooseberries, earthy notes, hints of yeast, citrus and caramel. Taste is smooth, hoppy and earthy with hints of gooseberries and grass. Finish is stuffy and earthy with some grass and pine. Feels a bit off.

Cask @ Gallows Bird Real Ale Festival 2015
Quite rich aroma with lots of citra: gooseberry bush, grapefruit and tropical fruits. Also minerals and bitter bush leaves. Flavour as bush leaves, lots of minerals, some dried fruits and apricot. Finishes with somewhat harsh herbal bitterness. Aroma was promising but flavour needs more fruits. A lot of them. Some fruits start to occur after some sips though.

On gravity at the Somerset Real Ale Festival, Minehead 7/9/2013. Deep gold with a slight white head. Tangerine and grapefruits, a touch of caramel sweetness, creamy malts and a dryish finish. Good.
