Keg at Crafty Taproom, Marlow, Bucks. A black coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Sweet, caramel, chocolate, honeycomb aroma. Tastes toffee, honeycombe, some chocolate, slightly bitter. Love the aroma on this one, a little thin and the taste didn't quite match the aroma. Pleasant stout.

Cask at Furnace, Derby Pours nearly jet black with a small cream head and good lacing. Very strong aroma of vanilla in the nose. There’s toffee as well, but not so much. Toffee comes to the fore in the mouth, with roasted malts in the background to give an overall pleasant sweetness. In cotrast the finish is bitter and prodomiantly apples. This is an excellent beer !

Half-pint, keg, at Meat & Barrel. Shared with Finn. Almost black in the glass. Patchy off-white head, clingy lacing. Promising smell of nutty chocolate. Mid-sweet malt-driven flavours character of nuts, toffee, and chocolate malts. Short, roasted malty finish. Easy to drink. Decent. (Southsea 23.10.2019).

13/10/2019. Cask at The Dove Street Inn, Ipswich. Pours very dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of toffee, roasted malt, chocolate, sweet black treacle, ash, light spice and dark fruit. Medium sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Sweet burnt finish. Pretty good though a pint would be a struggle.
