Pours black. It smells of coffee, chocolate, and dark roast malt. This is a very tasty coffee stout. Dark roasted. Balanced coffee flavor. Dark chocolate. Medium to full body.

Draught @ Bronx Ale House, Bronx (May 2024). Inky black with a spongy tan head, mocha aroma, low carbonation, bitter mocha taste, thin body, long mocha finish. Great stout!

Bottle. Big black, large & in charge eye. Light brown buff khaki head. Nose is volatile dark bitter chocolate. First big swig forms an experience of bitter burnt unsweetened dark chocolate and heavy duty malt, but not sweet. Continuing, the bitterness starts to build but it is controlled. I was worried about this being something like an impy stout but it tends to hide the alky content well, except that is, for that warming sensation all the way down the throat. A little chalky in the middle, yet keeps me interested, like rubbernecking past a steaming and smoking smash up on the parkway. Hey, BTW, why do we drive on the parkway and then park in the driveway? Stupid north americans, hehehhehh. The co2 level is not flat, but its barely there. As I approach the end, the nose has some metallic hints. The flavor remains stoutly in tact. There is some coffee character in there but it never gets totally up front nor in yer face, it seems to be quite subdued. But wait, near the end of the bottle, I truly am getting some roasted spices of pepper cereal and burnt tobacco coffee attributes in there. It took me clear to the end to really get the coffee.Think kopi luwak civet coffee, coffee beans which have been eaten and shit out by the palm civet, your friend and mine, the lowly Paradoxurus Hermaphroditus. For this coffee beer tasting experience, I will rate it 'not bad

12 oz bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of creamy beige head that lingers. Big coffee and milk chocolate aromas on the nose. Palate is similar with a lot of coffee, creamy vanilla and dark chocolate. Velvety mouthfeel. Smooth, creamy bitter finish.

Black with a beige head that left great lacing. Roasty with strong espresso and not much else. Very long finish. Moderately full bodied. Too one dimensional.
