Oktoberfest beers regularly are classic bottom-fermented Bayerish specialities. As the only one in this style in the Netherlands, this ‘Roggen’ tastes a little like rye bread. Additionally, the combination with classic hops and classic yeast makes it a good alternative for a Pilsner.

Tap @ Bierfestival Albergen Amber color, cloudy. Rye bread and soft yeasty notes in the aroma. Rye bread, a hint of laurel in the grainy sweetish flavor. Almost full bodied. Nice!

Tap @ In De Wildeman. Cloudy amber color. Rocky off white head with good retention & lace. Aroma’s: sweet, rye, ryebread, grain, caramel. Retronasal it’s sweet rue, light hoppy acidity, fruit. Flavor is light sweet, rye, light bitter. Medium bodied (rye!). Finishes lightly dry, fairly bitter, a little ashy, rye. Nice.

Draught @ Oirschots Bierfestival. Very hazy murky orange brownish color, average sized off-white head. Smell and taste are hard to describe. Slightly metallic but in a good way, a soft bitter touch. Can’t really describe it better but I don’t dislike it. Quite nice.
