03/01/2018 - tasting glass @Brouwbar taproom. Hazy yellow, medium white head. Nose is malts, yeast, ripe fruits, bit citrus. Taste is bready, ripe fruits, yeast. OK as a beer but I miss a bit the dry spicy touch I like in a saison.

26 April 2018. From tap at Brouwbar. Sample 3/6. Shared with Anke.
Pours hazy golden with a lasting, small, foamy, white head; little lacing. The aroma contains bready malt, coriander, herbal hops, grass, ripe apple, citrus, flowers. It tastes medium spicy bitter & light wheaty sour, bready malt in the back. Dry, spicy, peppery hop finish. Medium body, slick texture, lively carbonation. Decent brew, again no flaws, albeit somewhat subdued in taste.

Draught at Brouwbar (obviously) during their grand opening last Saturday, the only of their current beers I haven't had the chance to taste yet. Cobweb-lacing, snow white, medium thick, stable head over a misty peach-tinged straw blonde beer. Aroma of ripe banana, sweetbread, apple sauce, white pepper, soap, dried apricots, straw, sweetclover and other sweet field flowers, vanilla, roses, jute, some vague bubblegum and a subtle dash of diacetyl - clearly a very young beer, should revisit this a bit older from a bottle... Fruity onset, banana and pear jam sweetness with a slight sourish edge, spritzy and minerally carbonation (fit for the intended style); bread crust- and slightly caramel-like malt sweetish body, with a thin layer of honeyish sweetness on top. Elegantly phenolic effects in the finish (cloves, vague hint of liquorice even) with an earthy and floral hoppiness to it, bitterish but only softly so. Could do with more yeastiness and dryness seen the style - and therefore with more aging in a bottle, as said above; I would not mind more hop bitterness either, as this brewery overall tends to be a little bit frugal in that respect, but for a young, artisanal saison straight from tap, this is flawless, clean and smooth like all their beers. Looking forward to the next one, which is apparently already maturing in the kettles that can be observed at the back of the pub...

Draft @ Brouwbar. Hazy yellow colour, creamy white foam. Yeasty, aroma of citrus peel, light spices. Taste is rather sweet, light bitter dry finish. Well balanced. Ok saison!
