Tap at the Moersleutel, Alkmaar. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a thin off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, dry dusty, light liquorice, charcoal, light floral. The flavour is moderate to light liquorice bitter, with a smooth, rich, liqouirce, light floral, dry hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Draft. A black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, alcohol, iodine, and smoke. The flavor is sweet with notes of smoke, iodine, roasted malt, and dark chocolate, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Small bottle. Black. Malt, caramel and salted licorice in the aroma and flavor. Roast, velvety. Sweet. Low on Carbon. Full bodied. Tasty and aromatic.

24/05/2019 @home - bottle from a trade with tderoeck. Dark brown, no head. Nose is roasted malts, bit licorice. Taste is roasted, some licorice, not very complex, pretty long roasted ending.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met Roelzie1986. Het is een donkerzwart bier met weinig schuim. Het heeft een gebrande moutige geur geur. De smaak is moutig, gebrand, bitter en wat slapjes. Wel wederom een toffe verpakking.

Small bottle dressed up like old fashioned medicine! Opaque dark brown beer, no head. Palete is smooth but has low carbonation. Chocolatey dark malts but also a tangy and bitter liquorice and coffee. Finishes dry and bitterish. Not doing anything for me.

Bottle. Color: Black, very thin light brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, coffee, herbal hints. Taste: Roasted malt, chocolate, coffee. Moderate to medium sweet, moderate bitter. Medium to above medium body, below average carbonation. Dry-ish and slightly sticky mouthfeel. My third of the La Calavera First Aid Kit. Ok, but not that special and lacking body compared to other Imperial Stouts.

There's plenty of gimmick here but the gimmick is pretty cool. The bottle actually looks like laudunum. Black pour with great head and lacing. Roast, caramel and some musk. Bittersweet finish with some tang. Medicine bottle at Napar.
