Sampled from the tap at Funk Factory. Pours a deep dark brown with a yellowish brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has dark grains, some roast and a spice bite with a hint of red wine. Flavor has a warming spice and dark grains with some booze and dark fruits backing.

Black beer, dark beige rim. Sweet, rum-Bourbon, coffee, chocolate. Sweet-coffee and dark chocolate, at least until the hot chili takes over. Hot, burning chili feel, alcoholheat. Overchilied.

Bottle shared at BD Castlegate. It pours jet black with a small tan head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, bright, vinous, jammy berry, rocky road, spicy, ash, jammy dodgers, vinous, liquorice, oily and permanent marker pen. The taste is slick, oily, sweet - sour, chilli spice, warming, vinous, jammy, roasted malt, oak, jammy, coffee roast, tangy, leather, light tannin, cocoa, wood and ash with a warning and spicy finish finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth feel. Plenty to it. Fun.

Bottle pour @ MBCT Red Session. Pours dark brown, pretty flat (keg got damaged in transport, not a beers fault). Dense dark chocolate in the nose, chillies and chocolate concentrate. Cocoa and some more cocoa, liquified. Taste is lightly sweet but chilli kick is strong. Super strong heat there. Booze and light smoke, super strong chilli glow in the back of my throat. Finish is relatively short considering this intensity in mid taste. Some chilli glow and chocolate dust remaining. Pretty intense one this is, tasty but not really for a pint size drinking.

Tap at MBCT 2018 into a taster showing dark brown with no head. Busted keg! The nose shows pronounced notes of chili pepper, green pepper, and baking spices (cinnamon, clove). The palate is medium bodied with a medium chili spiciness immediately. Moderately intense notes of plum and currants followed by roasted malts that come out together nicely in a red bean sweetness. Constantly framed by the red wine barrel with a astringent red wine bitterness on the finish. Very interesting combination of red wine barrel and roasted malts but the chili is a bit off.
