Clear deep ruby red beer, bit off-white head, bit adhesive, little stable. Aroma: bit sourish, earthy, smells like a Flemish brown, hint of red wine, lactic acidity, little smoky/charred. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sourish start, smoky, some caramel, little sweet, lactic acidity, some tannins, but luckily not too much. Aftertaste: bit sweet, caramel, earthy, soft sourness, tobacco, slightly bitter.

Draught Huge, very dense & fine, lightly cream-coloured & very creamy head over fully hazy chestnut-brown beer; textbook lace. As the "light" version, again this overwhelming vinous/wood/ red fruit, here with some hints at lavender and chocolate. Again wood & more chocolate, (old) wine, winemost, noble rot. Again the finish seems empty at first, only to fill in with an aftertaste as a lighter reflection of the first sensorial impressions. Strangely enough, the dark version seems to lack some body, an impression absolutely not suggested by the colour. Beer that makes your trip worthwhile. Warning: not one to drink too cold.
