IPA, IPA, IPA... Mówisz IPA, myślisz chmiel. Duuużo chmielu. Zaczęli Anglicy - w XIX w. India Pale Ale zakonserwowane chmielem miało bez uszczerbku znieść długą morską podróż z Europy do Indii. PINTA sprawdza Niemców i warzy Das IPA - jasne piwo górnej fermentacji obficie nachmielone nowymi i eksperymentalnymi odmianami chmielu z Hallertau. Prost!

Skład: słody Weyermann(R): pilzneński, pszeniczny jasny, Carapils(R), Carared(R), chmiele (DE): Polaris, Hallertau Cascade, T'n'T, Fantasia, Mandarina Bavaria, drożdże Safale S-04.

Bottle, 0.50l, courtesy of ElDesmadre, shared with CanCrusher. Cloudy golden color with small creamy white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of citrus, pineapple, grass, yeast and some honey. Taste starts with mild sweet maltiness, following is grassy and grainy, while finish is bitter with medium aftertaste. Medium body, slick and dry texture with soft carbonation in palate. Clean pilsener-like IPA...

No takie sobie srednie to IPA w niemieckiej wersji z racji urzycia chmieli z tego kraju. Sa one wyrazne zapach moze niezbyt intensywny ale w smaku ich obecna sc szczegolnie sie czuje. Slodowosc minimalna, a piana prawie zerowa. Jasne choc nie slomkowe, przejrzyste i chyba nawet nie metne, piowo bez osadu. Gozki finisz ale nie powalajacy.

Small off-white head over copperish-yellow beer; fine if light carbonation. Sweet nose, even cornflakes-like. From the hops, only a faraway fruity aroma. Warming up gets sulphury/burnt rubber. Outspoken bitter hoppy flavour, perpendicular on the nose. IPA-idea gets defended by the same indistinct (well, maybe mandarine peel?) fruitiness as appeared in the aroma. Rather light body and MF even on the verge of emptiness in the finish. Bitterness gets metallic in the aftertaste. Rather crude, not really convincing as an iPA. Ceci n’est pas une IPA comme je l’entends, moi. Dziękuję bardzo, Aga i tatę!

On tap @ Setka Pub, Poznań. Pours clear golden wi airy white head. Clear aroma of hops and citrus, with notes of yeast and malt. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with grassy and estery notes. Low carbonation. Mildly bitter aftertaste. Well, I am enjoying it as a German IPA. It is definitely more German than IPA but not bad as such.

Bottle. Golden colour, minimal head. Aroma is of citrus (similar to tangerine), but lacking the freshness and exotic feeling of the American IPAs; also some spruce and malt. Medium bitterness, but a bit harsh in character, light sweetness. A bit disappointing.
