Inspired by a recipe from the Gallia brewery from 1890, it is the historic Lager of Paris, the one with which the Gallia adventure began again in 2009. A low fermentation beer, well-dosed hops, Pilsner malt, a touch bitterness, sweetness and life is good.

Huge, fluffy off-white head over clear coppery-golden beer. Extremely caramelly, even nearly fresh (weak) coffee nose, café noir cookies, going over in fresh, parsley aromatised malts; rainwater. Again caramel; weak tea flavoured with honey or caramelsyrup. Finish is definitely drier, hinting at noble hops, resulting in even some discreet bitternesss. Light body, creamy head, medium carbonation. Interesting as a concept, much less as a beer.

33cl bottle from Terre de Boissons, Calais. Gold orange with lasting white head. Characterful yeasty aroma. Almost tart lemon in mouth, some sherbert. Tasty blond beer. Wow a lot more interesting than I was expecting. Maybe a bit too yeasty.

Bottle. Gold with a fast-fading white head. Grainy aroma with some earth and spice. Quite dry despite balance leaning towards grainy malt. Mildly spicy bitter finish lingers. Decent hops, rather bland malt.

Solid pilsener head, bright yellow body. Aroma heavy on cereals, some hops. Taste is a nice smooth hops flavour and a tart and dry finish. Very good in the way of pilseners.
