Apple beer by De Graal, tasted from its steinie bottle at the Warempel in Ghent, an unexpected tick during the Gentse Feesten... Very thick and rocky, foamy, snow white, papery lacing head, lightly hazy pale straw blonde robe with very fierce sparkling. Aroma of banana, bubblegum, apple-flavoured candy, freshly cut apples even, pear, some coriander, pineapple, grass, candied lemon. Sweet onset, banana ester mixed with strong apple flavour, sourish edge accentuated by sharp carbonation but still with a full, 'moelleux' mouthfeel. White bready malt sweetish body, residual sugariness and apple juice flavour, light soapy coriander seed note in the finish as well as a dim citrusy touch (curaçao, I suppose), a tad zesty even; bubblegummy banana ester and apple juice sweetness linger, the latter becoming even a bit sticky in the end. Not my cup of tea, I don't like apple beers that much (or even apple in general) and this one is just an ordinary Belgian blonde with apple flavour added.

5/II/14 - 33cl bottle @ home - BB: VI/2015 (2014-172) Thanks to Bram Van Braeckeveldt for the bottle!
Little hazy pale straw yellow to light beige beer, big creamy to fluffy irregular white head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: bit sweet, fruity, some banana, yeasty esters, sugary, bit dusty. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty sweet and sugary start, citrus, soft bitterness, bit grassy, some alcohol. Aftertaste: citrus, little sour, grassy hops, hint of banana, little sugary. Luckily not too much traces of the apple juice.

Thick and dense white head over fully clouded yellow beer. Leafy, grassy and slighlty perfumed nose, faintly fruity in the end. Wheat, citruspeel, spicy. As to apple... possible, but I’m not getting it. Slick (wheat?); light to medium bodied. With all due respect, BO-ORING.
