Has a very nice clear gold body; yes, it’s almost like a million and one other blondes but it has that extra "je ne sais quoi" to make it exceptional. The head as well is huge and white, and has serious staying power. The aroma, however, is only a weak hint of citrus and grain. The flavour is mostly syrup and sugary adjuncts with a bit of malt in the middle. It’s intended to be a Belgian-style blonde, but comes off as a little too harsh for such a style. Essentially, it’s missing finesse to drag it out of the quagmire of mediocrity.

Pours deep gold into a Duvel tulip. Bright white fluffy micro head with excellent retention and craters leaving sheet lacing and looks quite at home. Candi and yeast aromas. Crisp with upfront biscuit and yeast turning hoppy in the lasting finish.

Huge, just yellowish tinted head, very tenacious over hazy yellow-ochre beer, well-carbonated. Something as astringency deploying in the nose, sweetish malts, dough. More malts, with a point of bitterness and one of piquancy, that isn’t quite sourish. Finish has a bit of spices, quite yeast-determined. Very carbonated MF, on the verge of fizzy, light body. Sweetish aftertaste. OK blonde. Very yeast-intoned, if not overly Belgian, IMO.

Bottle: Poured a hazy beige color ale with a super huge white foamy head with perfect retention and good lacing. Aroma of fruity ester with some Belgian style malt. Taste is also a very nice and refreshing mix between some fruity ester with some nice Belgian malt and a hoppy finish with what appears to be some Saaz or other European green hops. Body is full with perfect carbonation and no alcohol was showing. Very well done and I wish more brewer would brew easily drinkable Belgian ale.

A golden pils with a thin light creamy white head. A light pleasant coriander aroma. In mout, a pleasant crisp malt with fruity esters, berries, and warming alcohol. The beer was described by the server has a new pils for the pub, an experiment by Nicolas, the brewer. If this is a pils, it is exceptional but veers more on the Palm/Belgian ale side. On tap at the brewpub, Sept. 1 2007.
