Green Flash 5th Anniversary Double IPA
Brewed with 100% Columbus hops this double IPA is an absolute Columbus hop bomb! Its resinous hop character comes through with huge grapefruit zest and pine notes throughout the brew. The big juicy, fruity, citrus hops add a resinous and almost sticky hop presence in the body making the medium body from crystal malts seem even richer and fuller. This is a hop head’s treat! 9.5% ABV, 95 IBU

Tap at The University of Beer. Pours hazy amber with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is resin. Med body or better. Flavor is resin with a touch of citrus/floral over restrained caramel. Not biting, but finishing very hoppy and bitter. With grapefruit peeking out. Excellent.

Draught Huge, mango-yellow, dense head over slightly hazy pale amber beer. Fresh C-hops, orange rind, orange cake. Taste differs seriously with a very cake, pastry-like taste, seriously diminishing the hops, in a balancing way. Some oxydation apparent. Well-bodied, viscous and nearly pappy, bit sticky. Good one, but it ought not to get oxydized so fast.

On tap @ the Stone World Bistro. Pours copper with thin off white head. Full aroma chubbed up with pine hops, some grapefruit hops and mild sweet malts hanging around out the back. The taste is big and chewy with ample malt sweetness that feebly attempts to balance the bold pine, grassy and mildly grapefruit hop bitterness. This is a nice very nice West Coast hop bomb brew with high gravity that helps feed the malt backbone. Spot on IIPA.
