Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a slight brown hue and a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is a combination of strong pine with a strong sweet grain and biscuit backbone. Flavor begins with sweet grains but has a growing pine backbone as well as a hint of grapefruit.

22 oz. bottle, pours hazy orangey amber with a big white head. Aroma of rye, citrus hops, caramel malts, and a fruity character. Flavour of strong rye, bitter hops, and fruity characteristics. Unique, exquisitely flavoured.

Bottle...Copper body, red hues...beige foam....citrus aromas..pretty normal ....light citrus and light malt....body is creamy, but just very typical....lemon seed essences...more citrus and light malt....just average for me in this style....but very tasty...nice lacing, and a nice lasting finish

Cloudy orange coloured body with a tint of yellow and a nice white head. Aroma of super fresh hops (even though this one is over a year old) and a nice toffee sweetness. Medium-bodied; Chewy taste with hops the obvious front-runner. Nice malt backbone showing some toffee and pit fruit type sweetness. Aftertaste shows the very pungent hops with some apricot and other fruity flavours. Overall, a good ipa - a lighter Imperial IPA, but still pretty nice. Definitely one to try if you can find it! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Portland (Downtown), Oregon on 25-December-2007.

Thanks to Degarth for bringing the IPAs and IIPAs to the tasting. Pours clear copper with off white head. Nice big grapefruit aroma and hints of vague sweetness behind the hops. The taste is nicer than I remember with a rich malty sweetness that gets run over by both sweet grapefruit hop flavor and the hard hitting grapefruit hop bitterness. Nice mix of flavors to fill out a solid IIPA experience.

22 oz bottle from Bottleworks in Seattle. Pour is deep orange with visible carbonation and a nice fluffy white head. Aroma is cutrus hop and a bit of earthiness. Taste is citrus and a bit of the peel of an orange. Hint of malt, though mostly this beer is about the hops. I get some grain (rye, maybe) and resin in the finish. A little watery on the palate, otherwise a very drinkable IPA. And at 8.5%, alcohol is very well masked.

Aromas of caramel malt and citrusy hop. Dark, red tinged, amber color with an off-white head that rapidly diminished. Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation with no bite. Toasty malt sweetness. Good balancing hop, which I still think is citrus, but could be floral. The finish is almost dry, and the bitter is wonderful. Warming alcohol arises. What a great ale.

Thanks to Suttree for sharing this one, and to LarryPitonka for sending it his way. Tasted at the Tennessee Spring(ish) Tasting held in Knoxville, TN on 3/10/2007. This murky dark amber brew leaves a sticky web of lace on the glass after the long lasting off-white head falls away. Rich malt accentuated by floral hops. The flavor follows the aroma. Good IIPA.

(Bottle 65 cl) This pours a pretty, warm, hazy amber colour with a dense and delicious, creamy, off-white head. Fresk, slightly perfumy hop aroma. Medium-bodied with sweet caramel malt and then very fresh and delicate - although quite soapy - hop notes. Yum. Courtesy of Degarth. 170207
