Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a huge orange head. The aroma is very sweet and very hoppy giving it notes of grass as well as citrus. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of grass as well as some citrus, leading to a very dry and bitter end, where the grass lingers around.

Bottle: Transparent amber pour with a thick, creamy beige head. Nice lacing. Aroma is strong floral hops and hints of the higher ABV. Taste is sweet with malt, floral hops, some fruitiness, and a little alcohol. Finish is a lingering bitter. Definitely a warming sensation in the tail.

Draft. Rich amber beer with a nice beige head. Big grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and pine flavor with big caramel backing. Lingering grapefruit and pine. Perhaps a bit too much caramel for me.

Clearish orange-copper body, thick cream head. Piney bitter hops aroma, toasty, but not sweet. Toasty, bitter body with little alcohol presence. Soapy, earthy hops. I like the lack of sweetness paired with the high ABV.

Thanks to Kinz for kindly donating this after the last Richmond Gathering. Hazy dark amber color with a thick frothy light brown head. Sweet floral hops aroma. Flavor of strong floral hops with some citrus hops in the end.

Draught Deep amber colour with small white head. Sweet, again the cocos nose - must be the yeast - cookies, and just hops for the aroma. Good! Vinous, syrupy malts, oak & vanilla are very remarkable. Hops complement instead over overpowering; Some alcoholburn (all the same!), syrupy yet refreshing. This is a swell IPA - it just oozes balance and searched-for greatness.

Draught at Concordia, Portland. Clear dark amber. Rich hoppy grapefruit aroma. Sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Mindblowingly hoppy. Resiny finish with approximately a gazillion IBU. Crazy stuff.

New rating: Dull dark colour with haze. The aroma shows grapefruit, wood. Chewy character with toffee and resiny hops. Fat bitterness.

Original rating: Dark, hazy, amber-brown colour. Earthy aroma with a hint of citrus and malt. Thick, clean, crystalmalty body balanced with lots of bitterness but surprisingly understated aromatics for a PNW IPA. Ar 6 Ap 3 Fl 7 P 3 Ov 12 = 3.1

Deep orange with floaties. Light hops in aroma with alcohol and apples. Harsh hops with band aids, acrid, bilous...way too much hops. Medium bodied. Bottle sampled with TiggMtl, MartinT, muzzlehatch and Rastacouere.

Bottle Pours a hazy light mahogany with a medium creamy light tan head. Thick heavy lacing as well. Aroma is a deep hopy woody flavor, but I don’t detect much of the typical cirtus, grapefruit smell. Woody and earthy. Flavor is a very rich, full malt and hops. The stiff ABV is apparent but works nicely with the other flavors. This is a very complex and interesting IPA. Not one dimensional lke others. Palate is a very rich and heavy, almost creamy feel. Aftertaste is nicely not harsh or very bitter. Of all the Dick’s I’ve had this is probly my fave. And a style that is not my favorite to boot.
