It's summer, the sun is out and Half Mast is the perfect way to celebrate. An IPA with a quarter of the alcohol, but not lacking in the flavour, impact balance that you would expect from a Siren beer. This golden coloured IPA has a surprising malt base given it's strength, low bitterness, but it's popping with juicy mango and grapefruit. Truly the perfect summertime drink.

Tap @ craft beer co clerkenwell. Hazy orange color, short head. Aroma has some citrussy hops, bit grapefruit, some biscuity malt. Wonderful medium bitter in taste, crisp, not too dry. Balance is exceptional and getting a 2.8% ipa taste like a regular 6 or so %, without becoming too thin or dry shows pure craftsmanship. Stunning beer.

Cask at the 15th Egham Beer Festival. Slightly hazy amber with a thick white head; fruity mango aroma; sweet grapefruit flavour; with a very refreshing bitterness to finish. It’s amazing how much flavour can be achieved with such a low ABV. Excellent stuff.

Tap at Craft Islington, 31/07/13. Hazed golden orange with a minimal off white head that thins edgeward. Nose is citrus, hops, ornage squash, apricot jam, light pine. Taste comprises light juicy hops, light mineral notes, orange pith, mango. Light in body, fine carbonation with a little prickle, bitter notes in the finale. Great flavour profile for a 2.8% beer, a most tasty table affair !

Cask at the Holborn Whippet - London. Pours clear gold with a foamy white head. Delicate citrusy hops in the nose, some straw, pale malts. Light sweet flavor with more citrus, stuff like tangerine and orange, dry pale malts, faint minerals, bitter straw. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Clean finish with dried citrus fruits, more tangerine, mandarin orange, minerals, dry straw and pale malts. Very tasty. Good depth for the strength.
