Location: Bottle at Paul's Blind Impy Stout Tasting, 1/5/13

Aroma: The nose is sweet and malty, has some booze and some caramel
Appearance: The beer pours an almost black color with a brown head
Flavor: Taste-wise, it is pretty much what you'd expect from the nose, sweet and a little boozy
Palate: The body is medium, with a decent feel, and a little bit of heat on the finish
Overall Impression: There was quite a bit going on here, so that was nice. It was a touch too sweet, and though maybe not a top of style offering, this one was pretty good in my opinion.

courtesy of homebrew311 for the trade. pours dark brown, tan head. aroma, chocolate malts, dark fruits, yeasty. flavors, bold, fizzy carbonation, found it to have a tad too much yeast and dark fruit; fig, dates. Lingering mild tartness, wondering if some infection might be in the bottle. Some chocolate bitterness, medium-high carbonation. I have another bottle that I’ll try again, something was a little off with this one.

Another great stout from this small NE WI brewer, its one of their best. Purchased at Woodman’s in Madison and enjoyed in a plastic cup on Thanksgiving day. I’m not really noticing an aroma, but considering the circumstances I’m not surprised. Well balanced between malt and light hops, tasting a small prune aftertaste, I’m also tasting chocolate, coffee, and mint. Great beer!

bottle, pours thick black with a thin light brown head. Aroma is big and malty with black patent and chocolate. Wow, I feel like each sip is a pound of malt. Very smooth though with a slight soy sauce character, but it’s not bad.

12oz shorty bottle. Thick cocoa black-stained-glass red color. Nestle Quick aroma. Big,bold, roasty chocolate taste, while maintaining a smooth mouthfeel. Pretty solid Imperial Stout, albeit a touch watery. Lots of cocoa taste. Good stuff.

Bottle: Dark brown pour with a large, creamy brown head. Aroma is ripe with roast, chocolate, coffee, and a bit of smoke. Wow, that may be the silkiest and creamiest liquid I have ever consumed! Lots of roast, coffee, and light amounts of bittersweet chocolate swirl together in harmony. A little tingly in the end, lots of bitters and roast in the tail. Very enjoyable. Thanks to ughsmash.

Bottle; nose of raisins, and rye toast; clear but very dark brown with a medium cinnamon head; flavor has roasty , graony malt, with dark fruit, a little molasses touch, and some coffee and alcohol showing in the finish! Flavor much better than the nose.
