Bottle brought back from Lampernisse in West-Flanders, thanks to Jan! Surprised to see it's been retired now...
Pours clear golden with a frothy, diminishing, white head. The aroma contains grapes, apple, honey, herbs, hops & spices and flowers (especially in the smell). It tastes light fruity/flowery sweet and medium spicy bitter, with a herbal finish. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Not my style but interesting nonetheless.

Tasted at the Kulminator years ago, this is apparently a beer Dolle Brouwers makes for a French customer and with 10% white wine added. Though the aroma typically reveals DDB yeastiness, maltiness and hoppiness, the white wine does come through, and strangely, it does seem to fit in well (I’d expected a lot more conflict in taste). One of the weirdest beers I tasted from this brewery, interesting, but not my favorite Dolle Brouwers product.

Clear golden color, big white head. Aroma is triple-like, with white wine. Bit spicy taste, bitter, sweet white grapes. Good balance.

Bottle at RBG Low Countries 2005 Large, rocky head. Clear, blond body. Lots of bubbles. Nose of flowers and dough. Lightly sweet, moderately bitter finish. Medium bodied. It was supposed to be mixed up with white wine, but I didn’t notice any.

An unclear orange beer with a huge orange head. The aroma is very yeasty and spicy. The flavor is malty and very round spicy with light notes of white wine but also yeast. The alcohol burns a little in the end.

(Beer from DDB, mixed with 10% Luxemburg Riesling wine) Gushing to huge, irregular creamy head, collapsing. Flunky, totally opaque amber colour. Lactic, Brett-like nose (phenolic), but also fruity and flowery. Perfumed taste, rosewater, soft spices as galanga root, etc. Sweet, slightly sour taste and tart-ish finish. Well-bodied, slightly slick mouthfeel. In the aftertaste, it gets (hop)bitter. Nice; I was afraid after the first reports, but this is OK. Spicey, fruity, original. Yet it will be a one-off, they say.
