Mustard beer for mustard maker Bister, with stable, sticky, off-white head and cloudy ochre blonde colour. Aroma of lemon peel, dry sherry, hay, peach, honey; taste begins with citrussy freshness and dried fruits, bready, bit sourish, yeasty, light bitter hop finish with a subtle, spicy mustard accent.

(Bottle 33 cl) My version was from now defunct "Les artisans Brasseurs" in Namur - 6% ABV. Golden beer with collossal amounts of floaties, gee this is really lumpy yeast. Stable, dense and oily head - from the mustard seeds? No, this doesn’t taste like Heiz Classic Mustard, but it’s oddly spiced in a way I haven’t really tried before. Decent blond ale, although a bit flat in carbonation with a slight, bitter finish. 150799

(bottle) Hazy and pale orange colour with a big foamy lasting white head. Floral hoppy aroma with citric, yeasty and spicy elements. Medium sweet flavour and carbonation. Initially malty sweet taste with a musty spiced and smooth bitterhoppy finish. A great experience, especially the mustard blended finish.

The aroma is very light - primarily spicy (probably the mustard) with notes of oranges. The color is a hazy orange and it has a huge head. The flavor is very nice, a mellow sweet background which there is spices, oranges, and mango. The mustard hits You in the end and combines with a hop bitterness for a very interesting end. A fine beer.

Bottled. This beer has a magnificent blond, treble colour and a white head. It smells like wheat and malt. It has no special flavour, ceratinly not disgusting. It is rather bitter-sweet. Long (bit salty) aftertaste. An enjoyable beer.

Bottled. Pale golden, very lively, rich head. Herbal aroma. Sweet, fruity and estery. Light bodied with short but rounded mouthfeel. I don't get any of the mustard.

Beer brewed by Lefèbvre for mustard factory Bister in Jambes. There used to be a first version by Mibrana at Namur. Orange colour, slightly hazy. Very thick head, mass of minuscule bubbles. Orange rind, even orange juice in the nose. Carbon dioxide. A bit spicey. Very light, fruitey, slightly sourish taste. There is a faint flavour, mostly retronasal, that is no doubt the mustard speaking. For the rest, the taste is very restrained - not at all like the first Mibrana version, that was quite spicey. Mouthfeel is surprisingly refreshing. Not much body. Even less aftertaste than taste. The idea is great. Mibrana made something out of it to be remembered. The beer of Lefèbvre is... superfluous.
