I got two 12 oz bottles of Noche Buena from an appreciated friend who brought several back from Juarez. He did this also a couple of years back, I didn’t do a rating at the time it appears. Rectifying the situation this balmy April late afternoon. I’m drinking out of the bottle this time, not my normal. I dig the presentation, foil wrapper and a Chritmasy effect. The scent is grain and a small touch of toffee. The drink builds on the smell. Baked wheat bread, a caramel sweetness, some astringency, alfalfa and field. As flavorful a Mexican beer as I’ve ever sampled.

Bottle, in Penasco, 10/30/22. Lightly sweet, maybe a touch of both melanoidin and/or toast and toffee. Alcohol, perhaps, on the end. Clean. Sweet and malty though I wouldn't call it richly-so with still the same filtered texture of a filtered macro lager (though to be fair, it's no different than a filtered German bottle of say, Optimator). Sweet, sticky, though not horrendously so, and drying on the finish with light bitterness, medium malt breadiness and light alcohol.
