A cocoa infused Imperial Stout that’s been carefully aged in bourbon barrels. Opaque black in color with a dark brown head. Big chocolate aroma with notes of espresso, blackstrap molasses, dark sweet toffee and dark fruit. Barrel aging adds heady notes of vanilla and bourbon.

Weird floral element. I detect lavender but some detected it as raspberries. Nice hot chocolate character.

Bottle from 2012. Pours opaque black, small beige head, dissipates with decent residual and lacing. Aroma is cocoa, molasses and bourbon. Flavor is quite sweet, light plus bitter, molasses, cocoa, vanilla and prominent bourbon dominate the flavor profile. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. The first sip seemed rather heavy handed with the Bourbon, but its getting better as it breathes.

Dark brown. Aroma has a fair bit of chocolate. Sweet, very rich with molasses, big woody character, toffee..some really rich dark malt character. Finishes fairly syrupy, really boozy and intense.

Bottle shared at dbarnold's, 10/31/15. Dark brown with a lasting brown head and drippy lace. Lots of chocolate here, not a ton of bourbon, just a strong stout with a nice malty flavor and light bitterness. Still, a very nice beer.

Had this at the 2014 RB Pittsburgh Summer Gathering at Horny Devil’s place. Actually it was after the equinox at the beginning of fall, but DILLIGAF. Big thanks to James & Michelle for hosting such a nice spread of quality beers and for this particular beer a GIANT thanks goes out to lithy. Smell of typical strong impy stout very little sign of choco. Big and black fer sure. Almost flat is my first impression. Taste is volatile chocolate but it is smooth without raising the alarm. Smooth fer sure. That alky thing hidden in there seems to be well blended in with the rest of the characteristics. Finish is high octane dark chocolate. Couldn’t drink allot of these but glad to have the chance at this one.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong chocolate, coffee, roast, and oak. Medium mouthfeel with rich chocolate, roast, and light bitter finish. Hides alcohol well, very good.
