Robijnkleurig bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is warm en krachtig, licht fruitig zoet met iets van rozijnen, pruimen en karamel. Heb wel eens een betere Quadrupel gehad.

0.33 l bottle from 'Bierloods22', best before May 2024. Very hazy, ruby with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently yeasty-spicy and slightly fruity aroma of molasses, raisins, overripe banana, prunes and some clove with a touch of coriander and licorice root. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, fruity and yeasty-spicy taste of molasses, raisins, prunes, overripe banana, clove, licorice root and coriander, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, gently yeasty-spicy and a little boozy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Tasty Quad, a bit simple but nicely balanced.

Dark brown with thin head. Aroma and flavour have sweet malts. Light dried fruits. Quite sweet. Finish is a bit short and plain.

This is another of the much-appreciated quadrupels sent along by good friend, Benzai. Thanks again. A cooled off 33 cl bottle is being opened and poured into my Chimay glass. The arrival is caramel colored with a thin, light tan head. Carbonation is strong. There is a nice scent of dark fruit and cake. And the taste, perhaps not as good as the smell. I get plum, white bread, malt and grain. Finishes surprisingly dry. There are better quads in my estimation. But you could do much worse.
