Question de bière d'épeautre, cette Millevertus est loin d'être au top et fera même plutôt le bonheur des amateurs de Brett tant les arômes s'y rapprochent. J'étais donc pour ma part moins à la fête avec une acidité certaine et en plus des arômes manquant de complexité. Joli visuel avec une ambré parfaitement limpide, de nombreuses et très fines bulles et une mousse de 3 mm. Le nez est terroir, pas loin du brett, avec citron, cuir et épices. A la dégustation, astringence (classique avec de l'épeautre) et acidité sont ai programme. Et ce dès l'attaque où l'on retrouve arômes de citron et de brett avec en retro une base plus douce sur le miel et la pêche. La seconde bouche est identique, sur des arômes simples. Arrière bouche et final sont sur une acidité plus marquée avec des arômes qui s'en voient couverts. Corpulences et longueurs sont honnêtes. On est loin d'une virtuosité.

F: medium, white, average retention. C: amber to almost brown, hazy. A: malty, bit honey, herbal, bit fruity, yeasty, bit spicy, bit mineral. T: malty, banana, peach, fruity, bit honey, yeasty, nothing very special yet ok, bit oily mouthfeel, medium body and carbonation, very dry on the palate, enjoyed, 33cl bottle from the brewery.

Hazy orange body. White creamy head. Light caramel aroma. Moderately bitter beer. Quite nice.

Oranje geel bier met stevig schuim. Smaak is licht fruitig zuur en kruidig met iets van ananas, bessen en pruimen.

Spelt beer, as there are many in Wallonia these days ever since Silenrieux started the trend in the nineties, with rocky, very thick, irregular, lacing, egg-white head and hazy peach blonde robe with ’dirty pinkish’ hue, turning more ochre with deposit, disturbed by a very fierce whirl of bubbles. Aroma of peach, straw, wet cardboard, dried flowers, baked banana, old bread crust, soap, cloves, sweetbread, dried lemon peel, apricot. Fruity onset with hints of peach, gooseberry and light banana, expectedly high effervescence stinging on the tongue but calming down after a while, supple bready maltiness with honeyish touch, lingering esters and a dryish, ’dimly’ sourish graininess representing the spelt, lightly earthy finish with mild bitterishness and yeasty phenols retronasally, bit grassy, but the honeyish sweet touch remains. Refreshing, balanced and technically correct, but perhaps not the most exciting Millevertus beer, or spelt beer, I had so far.

Bottle from LDW, Eke. Hazy amber apple juice colour, white foam. Nose of caramel, metal, spices and citrus. Reminds me a bit of a special belge. Bitter and sweet. Strange blend. Ok.

Leicht trübe orangegoldene Farbe, fingerbreite weiße Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, vergorene Früchte, Getreide. Geschmack nach reifen trockenen Früchten, kaum bitter, sehr malzig, Getreide.

Pours clear blonde, with a good, fluffy white foam. Smell is aromatic, ( hops, some grainy sweetness ) . Taste is bit bitter, complex grainy-side, corn, nice and intense, and something different than your average blonde ale. I like it
