Bomber from the brewery, shared at the MDBG tasting 4/4/16. Hazy golden, thin head, fair retention. Aroma of funk, lacto, bright lemon, pale malt. The taste is mango, tropical fruit, lime, pale malt lacto. Medium bodied, bright, well balanced.

22oz 2015 bomber that has been sitting in my closet or refrigerator for the better part of a year. Filtered tan body. Thin, patchy non-head. Deep cheesy lacto tones, thick. Really leans into the lactic sourness. Some funky wheat backdrop. Really quite tart for the style. Undeniable similarity between Icelandic Pants of the Dead and this. Sort of a lacto yeast bomb. Flavorful, but not exactly a balanced offering.

One of the few Berliner Weisse’s I’ve tried that didn’t require some kind of flavor syrup to make it palatable. This actually tastes pretty good on its own. Pours a cloudy, hazy yellow with essentially no head. Lightly floral, grassy aroma. Flavor is very tart, with some fruit esters like you’d expect from a wheat beer, but still quite drinkable as is. That said, I would like to try some with essence of woodruff...

Bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours tiny hazy golden with a rather big frothy white head that leaves some sparse lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is tiny malty and slightly fruity estery with crackers, lemon juice, pears, yoghurt, hay, minerals, lemon zest and hints of glue. Taste is sour, tiny malty and tiny fruity. Mouthfeel is dry, tart and light to medium bodied. Finish is sour with crackers, cereal, lemon juice, yoghurt, hay, dry soil and lemon zest. Decent base berliner. Bit volatile in the nose... --- Beer merged from original tick of Deesko! on 27 Nov 2015 at 19:02 - Score: 6
