Das Pilsener Bier oder kurz "Pils" genannt, ist ein untergäriges, stark gehopftes Lagerbier. Es wird ausschliesslich Pilsener Malz verwendet, welches dem Bier seine helle, strohgelbe Farbe verleiht. Es zeichnet sich durch eine starke Bittere aus, ist sehr hopfenbetont und weisst einen schlanken Malzkörper auf. Die Geschichte des Pilsener Bieres geht bis ins 19. Jahrhundert zurück. In der tschechischen Stadt Pilsen wurde gemeinsam mit deutschen Braumeistern dieser Klassiker erfunden.

Bottle at Restaurant Schlauch, Zurich, Switzerland, Friday 24th June 2016. Pours lemony silvery gold with a white head. Soft in the mouth, a little sweet but pretty refreshing, a little metallic and mineral twangy bite, dry end. Like it. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4

On tap at the brewpub. Metallic aroma, some low malts. Very hoppy and bitter even for a pils, but quite unbalanced. The hops appears in several stages but none feels right.

Weich herber, in Teilen bitterer Antrunk und weiterer Verlauf, monoton. Dann bitterer, wie zu Beginn weich. Ein trinkbares, sehr simples Pils. 6/7/8/6/7/7

Bottle, thanks Allen. Pale cloudy golden, heavy pearling, white head. Honeyish floral and citric aroma. Light body, dry mouthfeel. Quite citric entry, almost tilting into the laundry detergent, herbal notes, orangepeel, pineapple. Light on the strawlike malt. Grassy, sticky hops in the aftertaste. Quite bold.

***** SWISS BEER # 100 ***** bottle, herzlichen Dank Allen! Slightly hazy golden colour with a rocky creamy white head, very persistent. Lovely hopy nose with hints of citrus fruit. Clean and crisp hop flavours dominate the beer, with hints of lemon, lime and grapefruit. Pleasantly ydeasty with a solid underlying malty base. A delicious Pils.
