The current global situation keeping me home for the most part. I had a fortunate delivery from a much appreciated Belgian beer seller a couple of weeks ago, pulling Grand Cru out for a first tasting. Also out is my Straffe Hendrik snifter, good memories, to receive the contents of this 33 cl bottle, best by 13/5/21 the label says. The liquid is surprising for the style, dark amber-brown with a vigorous doe- brown head. The nose is raisin, hay and grain. A taste ultimately, wheat bread, peaches, apricots, malt, yeast and a slight bitterness, all very decent. The beer strikes me as a combo of a pale ale and a dubbel. And 9.5% abv that adds some heft. Not a bad brew at all.

Dark orange color, creamy head. A strong caramel and toffee aroma jumps out of my glass. Milky sour flavor, some coffee and loads of caramel. Malty and very sweet. Alcohol partly hidden by the caramel.

330 ml bottle, from Det Bette Ølhus, Aalbæk. ABV is 9.5%. Clear and deep reddish brown colour, large off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, brown kandij sugar, hints of mild spices. Smooth mouthfeel. Lovely malty flavour, caramel and brown kandij sugar again, but not too sweet, spicy hints. Moderate hops.

Flaska från beergium, ca tre år gammal. Mörkt kopparfärgad med medelhögt smutsvitt krämigt skum. En vällagrad belgisk strong ale med mycket torkad frukt, russin, madeira, marsipan, lite kärnbeska. Stora harmoniska smaker. Mycket gott

Draft at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours hazy dark brown with fine whitish foam. Aroma is malty, toasted, some chocolate. Overall, particular and difficult to identify. Body is almost light to the mouth, but very velvety and smooth, almost creamy. Taste is nicely balanced with moderate sweetness and bitterness. Finish is fairly long and nice.
