Barrel Aged Prairie Bomb! with Chistmas Spices
Next, we decided to take our famous seasonal Christmas Bomb! and age it in whiskey barrels because nothing says Christmas like cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate, Spaceship Earth coffee, ancho chiles, and WHISKEY.
My kids leave this beer out for Santa every year, and SANTA IS VERY PLEASED ABOUT IT.

Bottle from Tavour: pours black with beige head. Aroma is slight spice, vanilla, wood and booze. Taste is boozy and a little sticky. Lingering aftertaste.

12 ounce bottle from Tavour. Jet black pour. Brief tan head. Aromas of dark roasted malt, cocoa, cinnamon and ginger. Flavor upfront is bittersweet chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, ginger. Big boozy notes in middle. Holiday spice finish.

Refrigerated 12 oz bottle poured into a glass. Black with small light brown head. Aroma is coffee, thick body, medium carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is coffee, spice, and wood.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Black with not much head. Massive cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate, chillies, light whisky, floral, marshmallows, allspice. Solid sweet, medium bitter. Medium bodied, oily feel. Nice.

12 ml bottle. Pours black with no head. Aromas of Christmas spice, chocolate syrup, vanilla, subtle whiskey, and slick roasted malts. Flavors follow same with good balance on the spice, quite a bit more whiskey and a little more chocolate nougat. Farm finish. Excellent.

12 oz bottle. Pours an opaque black with a small tan head that quickly disappears. The aroma is big and bold with mulling spices, coffee, chilis and cocoa. The taste has chocolates and mild coffee in the forefront with spices and chilis filling in the backend. The palate is full and oily with soft carbonation. Finishes long and sweet with lingering spices. Overall: Decent bomb. paired well with some gorgonzola and capicola on toast.
