A maroon 'Dubbel' with a malty and spicy fragrance, a mildly bitter flavour and a dry aftertaste. Her sweet scents of licorice and rock candy accompany her full taste of fruit and spices. This fiery flame has a spicy character but is mild to handle.

[Draught at Ølbaren] Clear amber with medium head. Sweet aroma with nuts and overripe fruits. Sweet nutty flavor with figs and prunes. Unbalanced and a bit wommiting.

Almost Black/brown color with light brown head. Aroma is a sour citrus smell. Sour first with a light caramel coffee dark beer finish.

A hazy red beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet with main notes of berries, but also hints of wood. The flavor is sweet woody combined with notes of berries, and a slight acidity. The body is somehow thin - hard to imagine in a 8.5% ABV Belgian beer.

(Bottle 33 cl) Dark and almost muddily unclear, brownish head with lots of impurities. Very complex from lots of good quality ingredients. Heavy and aromatic, almost vinous in it’s approach. Vinous in the direction of sweet desert wines like port, madeira etc. And has some Trappist touches also. Great beer. 260804

Red amber color. Strong aroma: malt, caramel, alcohol, vegetables, phenol, hop. Quite dry mouthfeel, with a lot of caramel, some malt; not fully convincing.

I did not know what to expect from this, but what a pleasant surprise! Cloudy brown color, with beautiful long-lasting creamy head. Spicy, fruity and maybe a bit hoppy aroma. Bit malts add to the taste. Palate becomes a bit acidic at the end of the glass. But this Dulle Griet is certainly very good!
