A maroon 'Dubbel' with a malty and spicy fragrance, a mildly bitter flavour and a dry aftertaste. Her sweet scents of licorice and rock candy accompany her full taste of fruit and spices. This fiery flame has a spicy character but is mild to handle.

Bottle, 6.5%. Fruity and yeasty aroma. Vinous with dried fruit. Dark brown colour, seems cloudy. Stable light brown head. The flavour stars off roasted, quite sweet. It is also quite fruity with a little creamy note and a hint of fresh hops. Not bad, but not entirely clean.

[33cl bottle]Cloudy, reddish amber coloured hue with floating sediments and a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Mollassy sweet and slightly yeasty toast-malty aroma with caramel, licorice and fruity elements. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a soft carbonation. Earthy and toasty malty taste with caramel, licorice and restrained fruity notes. Thick malty and toasty finish with a present alcoholic burn. Pretty fat, still palatable brew [11.I.09].

A deep dark brown ale with a thick onctuous moka head. Aroma of caramel, vanilla, orange peels, and light licorice. In mouth, a smooth yet intense sweet beer, with sweet raisiny malt, orange, treacle and light warming alcohol. A good beer. BB 06 2009. Bieropholie Import.

Deep red beer with a good light-beige head. Creamy, liqueurish, alcohol, chocolate liqueur. Some yeastesters - liqueurcake. Bit oxydized flavours. Malty, chocolate malts and other very perfumed malts. Long aftertaste, the same flavours slowly fading. Very thick, chewy and viscous. Good one - I like Scheldebrouwerij. Cross my heart - already before they moved in here.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown cloudy color ale with a big foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry caramel malt with light spices. Taste is also dominated by some caramel malt notes with some spicy yeast elements also discernable. Full body with some great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not bad but more like a middle of the road Belgian ale slightly liking character.

From tap at Ølbaren. Pours dark brown with a reddish hue and a lacing light brown head. Aroma is chalky, breadish, with a mild raisin note and mild mouldy. Flavour is raisins swept in bread. Dried fruity finish with a light acidity and some breadish notes lingering into the finish. Grows on me with every sip, gives the impression of a rather nice brew that doesn’t have the best of all aromas.
