Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented in the bottle. It's a seasonal beer, so we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

Cloudy, dirty, light amber color. Aroma of apple, spices, fruit. Strong alcohol in the mouth, with lemon, spice, figs, melon, tropical fruit, and honey. Smooth, fruity, and very tasty. Extremely original and interesting. Great stuff.

cloudy orange, giant smooth offwhite head, creamy and super smooth, looks real nice. also nice lacings. aroma is spicy , citrussy, sourish, very delicious. flavor is sweet citrussy, faint caramelly, slighly sour, faint yeasty, faint hoppy bitter. real nice. however the last 3rd of the bottle was somewhat sweeter, more yeasty, peachy and bitter. so first half was 8 bordering to 9, second half only a plain 7.

Faint pear and clove aroma. Cloudy yellow, enormous billowy, white head. Alcohol is obvious and magnified. It tastes of lemon, pear, and copious amounts vanilla, with a liqueur feel. Balanced lemon and lemon zest finish. Harsh mouthfeel. Good transitions and alcohol becomes less overbearing as the glass warms

Bottle. Pours with a gigantic white head (probably would have gushed if I had opened it warmer), over a hazed golden yellow body. Aroma of pears, apple skins, earth, toffee, and light flowers. Taste is candi sugar, pear eau de vie, musty books and crusty bread. Alcohol is noticeable. Slightly spicy yeast. Low residual sugars, tingling bubbles. Very nice.

Rerate 170811. Bottle. Bours hazy orange with a big and fluffy white head. The whimsical aroma has notes of orange cest, mild pepper, flowers and sweet wine. Taste is a bit sour at first, then turns sweet - in a cookie dough-way that i kind of recognise from other Dolle beers aswell - before the spicy and slightly bitter finish. What a beer! Texture is perfectly soft with a light sparkling feel that lighten things up.

bottle, pours a murky yellow brown with a tall white head. Sweet sugary nose with a light spice lingering in the background. Malty body that gives a sourness like orange or lemon zest and fades into a bitter hop and spice finish. Very funky.
