Boskeun is the nickname of Jo, one of the two brothers who preferred to brew blond beer at home. It is a special Easter beer, one of the first real Belgian Easter beers. (Slaghmuylder's paasbier being first). It has been brewed with pale malt, Golding hops, cane sugar and refermented in the bottle. It's a seasonal beer, so we suggest not to keep it eternally. The name Boskeun means rabbit of the wood (virgin wood, maybe?) and the label shows it, sampling the last brew.

ABV of 9% this year. 330 ml bottle. Pours a hazy dark amber with lots of carbonation and a moderate head. Aromas of stoned fruit, honey, banana, fruity esters and soft toasted malts. Flavors follow same though less on the esters and more sharp fruitiness and honey. Excellent.

Sweet honey, green apples, mild tartness, funky and farmyardy yeastiness, spices and ripe fruits. A bit unbalanced and heavy

Aged copper orange with a small head. Big dried fruity notes under caramel, toasted malts, a bit of spice. Medium bodied. Finish has some booze and gets a little dry but balanced by spice and malts. Very enjoyable.

Bottle, ,#804, four weeks after canning. Pours clear orange with sediments, with a big creamy head. Aroma is yeasty notes of hay and bready malts with toffee, as well as fruity hops with stone fruits and grassy minerals. Creamy body, with average carbonation. Flavour is sweet yeasty esters with wet hay, kandi, bready malts with toffee and honey, as well as herbal hops and heathery minerals.

Bottle at home. Aroma is spicy yeast, bready pale malt, spices, esters, herbal and sugary notes, some alcohol and a soft touch of fruits. Flavour is sweet and moderate bitter with some noticeable booze. Body is medium with hefty carbonation. A bit too boozy but I like the estery yeasty aroma.
