This stout is simply not suitable for vegetarians. It contains oysters. Now, you won’t find one at the bottom of the glass, but you may get a touch of sweet minerality in the flavour that comes from the freshly shucked lads that get put in during brewing. Not a bad way to go, even for a bivalve.Delicate and toasty, it also has slightly bitter, fragrant twist, thanks to East Kent Goldings.

Draft at Porterhouse, Covent Gardens. Dark brown with a thick, tan head. Lace coats the glass. Bitter coffee and malt. A bit of a smoked sea salt type of note comes through as well. Fairly thick and creamy, nice overall mouthfeel.

Botella 33 cl tomada en el momento en ca beleño 04..12..2015. (r594). Fcpref 10..01..2016. Color negro con espuma beige oscuro. Aromas y sabores suaves tostados. Cuerpo ligero a medio fácil de beber con 5.2 vol. Ligeros toques salados y amargo final suave. Normal.

Bottle 330 ml. Dlack with garnet color, good beige foam. Aroma: roasted, caramel, pleasant floral hops and prunes. Taste: sweet and spicy, with a hint of salt, caramel and burnt barley, spice reminded anise or coriander, not bad.

Angeblich ein Bier, das nichts für Vegetarier ist, da es mit Austernfleisch gebraut wurde. Geschmacklich merkt man nicht zu viel davon, nur einen leicht salzig-fischigen Nachgeschmack. Als Stout gefällt es mir insofern, da es schöne Aromen nach Röstmalz, dunkler Schokolade und Kakao hat. Das ganze in angenehmer Ausgewogenheit, so wie es sein soll. Es könnte etwas voller sein, aber aromentechnisch ist es top.

Casi negra y casi opaca, dejando pasar mínimamente la luz para dejar un mínimo tono rojizo. Muy fuerte aroma a chocolate. En boca es un compendio de matices. Empieza seca, para enseguida aparecer un fuerte sabor frutal y acabar con fuerte amargor seco que deja un agradable sabor que perdura.. Gran stout.

Crystal dark amber, tan head. Aroma is simple: coffee, liquorice. Creamy, round, full, bitter. Medium finish. After-taste reveals the oysters.

On tap at The Porterhouse, pours a near black with a red tinge and a small tan head. Nose is pretty restrained, with light oats and toasted malt. Flavour is quite restrained as well, with oats and just a hint of the oysters. Smooth on the palate, dry and creamy. Decent but nothing special.
