This stout is simply not suitable for vegetarians. It contains oysters. Now, you won’t find one at the bottom of the glass, but you may get a touch of sweet minerality in the flavour that comes from the freshly shucked lads that get put in during brewing. Not a bad way to go, even for a bivalve.Delicate and toasty, it also has slightly bitter, fragrant twist, thanks to East Kent Goldings.

Draft at the source. Dark brown with a creamy, tan head. Light chocolate in the aroma Mildly bitter. No sense of the oysters beyond a faint salty note. Light to medium body. Smooth. Okay but unremarkable.

Cremig malziger Antrunk, weiche Aromen von Kaffee. Steigende Aromatik, etwas Süßholz, trocken. Eher geringe Karbonisierung, langer Nachhall. Nett. 10/8/9/10//10

Draft @ Porterhouse, Temple Bar. Black with shades of brown and a lovely beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, some coffee and dark chocolate. Taste follows aroma plus a hint of smoke and something umami which I'm lead to believe is the work of the oyster. Creamy. Low to medium carbonation. Very balanced and delicious. Would love to be able to have this one on a regular basis.

Keg at Porterhouse, Covent Garden. Vague malty roasry aroma. Jet black. Thick creamy head. Low key aroma, lightest bitter, some aroma, but almost tasteless. Over chilled? Thick bodied. Creamy. Flat. Abrupt aka no finish. Could down it in one. Pleasemt by virtue of being undetectable.

330ml bottle, gift from Mark. Many thanks Mark. Pours an expected deep, dark with a small tan topping. Aroma of roast, light smoke, briny oysters (which I did not expect). Taste is smooth roast, soft salty bitterness, light oysters, comes together quite well.

Tap @ The Porterhouse, Dublin shared with Niilstrong. Brown color with a dark red glare coming through, medium sized creamy beige head that lasts for a long time and leaves fair lacing. Aroma is malts, soft roast and a little smoke in the distance. Taste malts, again light roast and a hint of smoke, a sweetish hint there as well, dark malt bitter finish. Solid.
