(bottle, 33cl) Dark brown colour with a beige mid-sized foamy head. Mildly roasted malty aroma with notes of dark chocolate, mocha, a whiff of liquorice and a berry-fruity touch. Moderately sweet and slightly sour flavour, medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Slightly roasted malt character with notes of mocha, dried fruits; finishes rather sweet and a bit cloying. Lahev: Deep,deep,deep amber coloured, small tanned foamy layer; sweet toasty-roasty nose with traces of freshly ground coffee and chocolate, any bitterness hardly detectable; moderate to solid sweet flavour with an illusion of bitterness; medium to full bodied, a bit sticky; slightly lingering sweet fruity-toasty finish with some hoppy traces in the aftertaste. Too sweet, to monotonous...

Zwart bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is licht zoet en licht bitter met iets van karamel, koffie en chocolade. Komt wat licht met weinig body over, maar is één van de betere bieren hier in Oostenrijk.

Bottle shared by ippopotamo36 (thanks Alberto!). Bruna, leggermente torbida, schiuma bianco-sporco media. Al naso sentori di zucchero di canna, malto, caramello, diacetile. In bocca è estremamente corta e sbilanciata sul dolce, vuota, inconsistente. Corpo leggero, watery, carbonazione medio-leggera. Non ha nulla del corpo di una bock.

Bottle at a private tasting in Rome-Italy, with daniele and Mortlach. Dark brown pour, medium off-white foam. Nose: dusty, mild caramel, powder barley. Mouth: Nice, mild caramel/coffee, decent body tough mild.

Trocken röstiger Beginn. Angenehme Würzigkeit, die Malgzigkeit steigt. Leicht bitter, Die Röstigkeit weicht Schokoladentönen, das Bier bleibt dabei trocken. Dezent nach Kaffee. 9/9/10/10/9/10

Bottled. A deep red beer with a huge dark brown head. The aroma has notes of bread, chocolate, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of bread, roasted malt, alcohol, and chocolate, leading to a bitter finish.
