La 150° Bionda / 1846 Birra Bionda

A bottom-fermented premium lager made using malt, brewers’ maize hops and water. The very best raw materials, a long maturation and the lightness of the water from the Biella Alps have, since 1846, given this beer a satisfying and refined taste profile. A balanced beer with a noteworthy floral and fruity aroma thanks to the special yeasts used in its manufacture.

At an awesome lunch spot in Florence. Hazed yellow pour. Nose grassy and light hops. Tastes of slight pine hops, grass, hay, lemon. Fine carbonation approaching medium bodied. Plain kinda brew but pleasant enough.

Bottle at Chris & Ruth’s pre-GBBF tasting, 2015. Many thanks to Ken’s notes for helping me to interoperate my drunken scrawl to work out what this was called! Gold pour with a white head. Is that fruity bread aroma? I like that, I like to lead the way in maverick aromas. I’m also guessing the s, w and f followed by a line of zig zags means ’sweet fruit flavours’... I shall go along with that one then.
