Pours a hazy orange with a big white head. Very attractive look. Aroma of spices, banana, wheat, bread. Very refreshing, and one of the best Hefeweizen I’ve had. Will definitely revisit next summer.

12 oz Bottle. Pours a slight hazy dark gold color with a medium sized white head that has good retention. The aroma is distinct with bananas and cloves. The taste is similar to the nose, lots of banana and some clove. The palate was light and thin, and the carbonation very soft. Finishes long and semi sweet with cloves. Overall: Decent--this beer is standard that I compare all other hefes against.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours a hazy dark orange with small fairly tight white head, good retention. Aroma of creamy wheat, banana, clove, light spice. Very solid and inviting on the nose. Taste matches the aroma, very smooth with all the elements you want including that spice coming through at the end. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. Very good tasty beer.

Tap Bonte Koe, Leiden, Netherlands: Yellow Cloude Hefeweizen from the oldest brewery of the world, the right thirst quenching beer for hot april month in the Netherlands.
First check in on the new phone. Still learning.

Notes from January 2011 500ml edition. Bought a case. Then bought the bottles left on the shelf. All the Korbinian. Then all the dunkel & Kristal. Actual people coming over for New Years was just icing. :) Left the Vitus for all the fanboys. I don't like it. :P Hef glass. Waited a sec because it was mighty cold. A hazy pale orange/gold beer. Stiff Cool-Whip head. It's as thick as shaving lather in some instances. Swiss cheese lace. Smell is unexplainably savory, but still bright like a Hefeweizen should be. Like warm pasta tossed with a little fresh butter & a little herbage. Terrible analogy(& maybe I'm just hungry), but that's what I'm imagining. Light on the banana(though it's creamier then usual) & barely showing any anise/clove. Taste is pungent banana esters with a twinge of orange. Sweet biscuity middle with a bitterness that is more green then clove. Finish turns to face dry, but doesn't quite get all the way there. Good carbonation, if a little ethereal. Body feels heavier then I'd like. I can't say that this is my favorite hef ever, but I've always come back to it. While imports aren't usually at their freshest, I've still had some really nice ones from Plank, Ayinger, Franz, & Schneider, which I feel are all superior to this one. At least on this side of the Atlantic. :P
