California, that is sun, energy, ideas, optimism, and that’s exactly what we were trying to put in our California. We hope you find all of it in there once you try it. Originally, it is based on the British Pale Ale, but the American version is zestier and foamier. We also added something Czech, so it is a US/CZ version.

On tap at NuBeerBar, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out light piney hops and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with assertive grassy, piney hops upfront, and a dry toasted biscuity malt base. Nicely balanced, with high clarity. Good stuff.

Die Brauerei Matuška ist einer der Durchstarter der noch recht jungen tschechischen Craftbier-Szene und überzeugt immer wieder mit guten, kreativen Bieren. Inzwischen bekommt man die Biere, die es lange nur vor Ort und in 1l-Plastikflaschen bekam, auch in allerlei Bars im gesamten Land. Dieses Bier nach amerikanischen Vorbild ist leicht fruchtig und gut hopfig. Ein angenehm frisches Getränk.

On tap at Makro Beer Fest in Ljubljana. Pours slightly hszy yellow golden, topped with medium sized white head. Very pleasant fruity nose with lychee upfront. Medium bitterness. Quite grassy in feeling. Easily drinkable, just a bit too grsssy.

0.75l bottle. Hopy aroma, malty notes, herbs, grass, light hay notes. Hazy yellow color, white head. Hopy taste, citruses, light resin, light sweet notes, medium bitter. Light to medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation, hopy and malty bitter finish. Very good and easydrinking.

on tap at Kulovy Blesk. Light golden with medium quickly disappearing white head. Aroma: malt, floral hops, tangerines, peach, yeast. Taste: citrus, malt, light resins. Light body, might bitterness. I still have feeling that new batches of Matuska’s have less quality compared to older ones.
