F: big, pale tanned, good retention. C: dark with coppery tones, bit hazy. A: toasted and roasted tones, bit vanilla, caramel, floral. T: roasted tones, bit coffee, cocoa, dry on the palate, dark caramel, herbal, medium body and carbonation, as a beer bit too simple yet very good for the style, enjoyed, from tap @ brew pub visited 11.9.

Tap. Roasty grains, dark roasted coffee, red berries. Light sweetness with a subtle bitter finish.

On tap at 7 Stern Brau, pours a hazy reddish brown with a small beige head. Nose brings out caramel, red fruits and bready malt. Flavour is quite rich for the style, with caramel malt, bready notes and red fruits. Quite deep for the style, with a medium body. Solid.

Dark red-brown body, with a big, frothy, lacing, beige head.
Aroma of dark bread, toast, cocoa, caramel, some coffee, some dark fruits.
Tastes quite similar, with more roast notes.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes medium roasty, a bit dry, subtly sweet, toasty, bready, a bit wooden, with cocoa, subtle coffee.

Really nice. Not too sweet, with a good amount of roast and toasty notes. Drinks easy, but aromatic. Pretty above average Dunkles for Austrian means.

On tap @7Stern in Vienna. Black color, ivory small foam. Nose is round roast, in the middle between caramel and chocolate, some metallic. Mouth is sweety, simple, hints of licorice.

On tap at the brewery pours out dark brown with a small tan head. Nose is chocolate malt some spice. Taste is more of the nice roast malts a little chocolate notes.

On Tap at the brewbub. Dunkel orange braunes Bier mit einer geringen beigen Schaumkrone. Geruch süß röstmalzig, Schokolade. Geschmack sehr malzig, süß, Karamell, Schokolade, Vanille, lecker!

On tap. Thick retaining tan with bubbles like a pancake being made and just about ready to flip-black. A-anise/licorice-dk malt, some earthy. T-roasty/chocolate-dk malt, earthy hop backbone.
