So called because of its truly "ruinous" effect on your palate, this massive hop monster will change forever your preconceptions of what defines good beer. This is Stone IPA's big brother, and we mean BIG. We essentially began with our already-awesome Stone IPA, threw in an extra-large helping of malt, and added a lot more hops. And then some more. And then even more, resulting in a vibrant blast of citrusy bitterness that hits you on the first sip. Just one taste and you'll know why we call this indelicate jewel "A liquid poem to the glory of the hop!"

Sweetish, crisp and caramely malty with loads of pine, resin, grassy hops and lingering bitterness. Still pretty good OMT.

355ml can. First time trying the US brewed version. Clear amber with a big white head. Aroma of grapefruit, resin, pine, marmalade. Taste is very strong and bitter, grapefruit, pine, very resinous, marmalade, caramel. Medium bodied. Proper old school WC IPA.

Can from Systembolaget. Very mature American IPA. On the soapy end of the bitterness level. Pine to the extremes.

Date stamped enjoyable 26 April 23. Aromas and flavors are a blend of slightly old resin hops with some citrus and caramel malt. Bittersweet with good carbonation and a mildly bitter finish. Wish I would have had it fresh.

A beer I thought I had rated before, not the situation. Tonight I have a 12 oz can, packaged on 12/27/22, ready to be opened and poured. My Chimay chalice glass, that's how I'm rolling tonight, shows a reasonably clear, gold body with a wispy skim of almost white foam. The smell, very IPAish from the day, is pine, grain and a touch of yellow fruit. I take a drink, wow, this takes me back, hop central for sure, orange rind, crackers, varnish and malt. A hop bomb, I have not encountered one in quite awhile, not bad but I have had others that are tastier. Peels the paint off the wall, I am all about it. It is nice to see a strong throwback IPA.
