Bottle. Thanks Jon and Kaori. Aroma is roasty, soy sauce, lots of booze, bit of pongy milk. Taste is really good, dark, sweet, chocolate, bit of vanilla sweetness.

Liquorice-spiced variation on Evil Twin's Even More Jesus theme, this one realized at and in collaboration with Siren in England. Thanks to tderoeck for sharing the bottle. Thick and creamy, pale beige head with brownish tinge over a black beer with thin chestnut edges. Rich, alluring bouquet of melting fondant chocolate, vanilla beans, caramelizing brown sugar, toffee, cappuccino, whisky, cinnamon, nutmeg - and liquorice indeed, but not overpowering at all. Candied sweet onset, dates, balanced by a sourishness of roasted barley and a beef broth-coloured umami hint; soft carbo, thick, oily and 'fatty' mouthfeel. Thick caramelly and toffeeish malt sweet body, quickly becoming hazelnutty and eventually very chocolatey, with toasted bitter finish; liquorice again noticeable, a tad resiny and producing retronasal ethereal spicy accents; thick, creamy caramel sauce sensation lingers, made vivid by stings of peppery hops and even more peppery, though nowhere astringent, whisky-like alcohol. Highly delicious and the fact that the alcohol seems less wry and obtrusive here than in other high ABV Evil Twin as well as Siren stouts, seems to prove that two already very good brewing companies can make each other even better, at least in this case.

Clear dark brown beer, big creamy solid beige to brown head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweetish, malty, coffee touch, lots of chocolate, some dried fruits. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bit sweet, malty, caramel, little acidic, alcohol, lots of chocolate, fruity touch. Aftertaste: more chocolate, slightly sweet, soft bitterness, pretty roasted finish. Nice stuff...

Bottle, 330 ml from Luvians bottle shop. Pours black with light brownish head. Roasted malts, chocolate, licorice. Sweet, syrupy, oily. Full bodied, complex.

Bottle from Pigs Ear Beer Festival, 2015. Jet black pour with a tan head. Keeps it’s head well. Aromas of cinnamon, dark chocolate, coffee roast, licorice toffee, vanilla and cocoa. Big boozy flavours of licorice, bags of dark roast coffee, dark chocolate and roasted sweet spice. Lengthy dryness on the gullet. Full bodied brew, huge alcohol warmth. Long, sweet coffee infused finish. Excellent.

Appearance is opaque jet black, with a large foamy brown head which slowly diminishes. Aroma- chocolate, fudge, leather, vanilla, molasses, toffee, espresso, roast malt. Bitter hops are also detectable. Taste- chocolate and toffee, chocolate biscuit, fudge cake, roasty coffee, brown sugary sweetness, vanilla, coconut, rich fruitcake. Full and thick mouthfeel, like a boozy milkshake. Excellent.
