Tiger Tail brings all of the roastiness of the dark malts and the juiciness of the hops that you would want from this style. For an extra layer of flavour, we smoked some orange zest to mingle with the fruity hop profile and the toasty malt backbone. The result is a Black IPA with a complex and fruity profile, a Black IPA reinvigorated for 2019.

Keg at the experiment. An opaque dark black brown coloured pour with a creamy mid tan head. Aroma is nice big liquorice, resinous pine,, vimto, blackened sugars, ash. Burnt rubber. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, luscious malts, bitter liquorice, piney hop, rubber, medium ashy bitter roast, singed pine needles. Palate is thick and chewy, moderate carbonation, resinous hop. Really good black ipa.

Keg at the Wxperimwnt - Hackney. Pours black with a creamy khaki head. Rich, lots of sweet dark malts, ample floral hops, grapefruit zest, lemon rind, alcohol, burnt toffee. Medium to full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation and velvety texture. Warming finish, a touch sticky, more citrus, well toasted dark malts, flowery accents. Bold but pretty well balanced.
