An Imperial Blonde Ale or Blonde Barley Wine; Helldorado has the lightest color of any of the beers in our barrel program but carries a great deal of interesting barrel character: vanilla, light char and amazing lavender-honey notes. Rich boozy honey liqueur character and loads of smooth sweet toasted malt to finish. The El Dorado hops dance in the background without playing a dominant role in the flavor profile. This beer gets better and better the longer it is in barrel.

2017 vintage boxed 12 oz bottle poured. Cloudy darker orange pour. Patchy head. Intense aroma of bold grain, booze, and oak. Thicker body full of dusty oak, vanilla wafer, with a lingering floral effect. Definity a potent golden, but remains flavorful and ultimately layered. A barleywine worthy of celebrating year after year. Awesome.

2017 Vintage Tap at Aces and Ales, Las Vegas, 19th February 2022. Pours a light golden and viscous ale, aroma is complex, sweet, caramel, some hops. Taste is perhaps tainted, hay, straw, slight chemical, sweet, but very drinkable for the abv, shame the pipes had just been cleaned

2015 barrel drank in 2022. Sublime deep malt and barrel tones. Warm, sweet, heavy, , delicious. Really good. I would guess 6+ years has mellowed it out some.

Bottle shared in Hazlemere - big thanks to Kenny. Vintage 2014. Pours lightly hazed red-gold with a modest, foamy off-white head. Medium to big sweet flavour, lovely ripening citrus, pine, melon, peach, booze, rich pale bread, a little vanilla. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation: warming finish, subtly sticky, some peach, tangerine, pine, a little caramel, vanilla cake. Really tasty stuff.

Tasting at Chez Bois. Hazy orange amber beer, small cream colour head. Light palate, semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light sweet malts, creamy with just a touch of caramel. Crisp pine. Rich dried fruits with a good overlay of brighter orange and mandarin, touch of tangerine. Light finish. A good bright but rich fruity barleywine that has held up very well indeed.
