Gezapft im Brauhaus in New York. Sehr dunkles, fast schwarzes Braun, ein dünne Schicht Schaum. Aroma dunkle Schokolade, etwas Kaffee, etwas Karamell. Geschmack mittlerer Süße, dezent bitter, dunkle Schokolade, Kaffee, Nuss, Karamell. Wunderbar cremiger Antrunk.

12oz bottle. Somehow not rate until now, though this had to be among the first ten Imperial Stouts I ever had...25 years ago now. Roasty, chocolatey, viscous, creamy. Has some hops in the back, which pretty much all the new school stout world manages to forget. Really drinkable, and just a classic example of the style. Really glad I revisited this one, and will cellar a few for sure.

Fles 35,5cl thuis. Koffie, chocolade, kers, klein zuurtje, roasted malts, caramel, licht liquorice, zacht, vrij romig, redelijk bitter, zoeten, wat droog. Goede balans. (20-1-2022).
