Even the truest New Englanders deserve a vacation. After a long winter and rainy spring, we all patiently look forward to the promise of warmer weather, longer days and day trips up and down the coast. The seasonal sequel to True New Englander, New Englander’s Vacation is a new pale ale we see ourselves enjoying on the beach all summer long. Using Sabro hops, New Englander’s Vacation packs a refreshing fruity punch at a sessionable and enjoyable 6.2%.

Pouring a light yellow straw color with a moderate level of haze, New Englander’s Vacation is uniquely tropical on the nose, swirling mouthwatering tones of bright pineapple, fresh coconut, and key lime juice. These flavors converge on the palate calling to mind piña coladas with waves of tangerine, ripe stone fruit and mango adding depth. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel, New Englander’s Vacation has a light and rounded floral bitterness providing balance and a drying finish.

Pours a lovely opaque yellow from a can. Aroma is mostly drier citrus fruits: lime and grapefruit, along with just a touch of tropical notes. Similar fruit notes in the flavor, but well-balanced with just the right amount of sweetness: not too much. Very good beer.

Draught fenway location, 7/21/21.
Moderately hazy, pale brass. White head quickly fades to ring.
Lime juice, coconut, pineapple and bare, cracker-like malts give a tropical, if not quite juicy nose.
Tastes like coconut and light lime. To the point where I thought they added coconut. Lightly sweet, white bread-like maltiness balances but there's a cloyingly coconutty-lime finish that I find rather repulsive. Hard to drink much. Guess I dont like sabro.

Can at home in Hackney - big thanks to Anja! Pours cloudy gold with a frothy white head. Lovely stuff, pillowy and soft, with rounded and compelling citrus fruits, soft rind bitterness, tangerine, melon, peach. Light to medium bodied with delicate, massaging carbonation. Just a nip of chalk in the finish, with the rest all semi-juicy citrus fruits, a little more rind, pine needles. Great stuff. Much more subtle than some Trillium hop bombs.

Can shared at Aaron's birthday. Pours a hazy, glowing straw gold color with a finger of foam that lingers. Lovely focused nose with aromas of grass, citrus zest, mineral and light herbal notes. Dry on the palate with dried mango, dried pineapple, grain husk and more mineral/herbal notes. Dry finish and insanely crushable. Very nice NE style on the drier side of the spectrum.

Pours a hazy, light lemon-yellow, with smallish head. Aroma has some grass and a touch of earthiness to it. Flavor is grassy, too, at first, almost more like a lager. There are some citrus and tropical fruit notes, but this is a very muted NE-style IPA (if it really can be said to be that). This just has a completely different aroma/flavor profile than what I've come to expect. Not that it's bad, it's just different.

Pours hazy pear into a tulip. Bright white head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Dusty melon and hay aromas. Soft with sweet melon and mango upfront turning to dry honey and rind in the medium length finish.
