Draft at Elephant & Castle Chicago. Muted thick orange yellow. Nose is juicy fruits. Tatses of bright honey dew, papaya, mandarin orange, grapefruit hint of rye (more as it warms). Fruity finish. Some bitters.

Aromas are mainly resin with some malt, citrus, MJ and melon. Flavors are similar to nose. Good balance between bitter, sweet and carbonation. Bittersweet finish. I don't pick up the rye. Decent but not great.

Sample at the Columbus brewpub. Hazy pale yellow-gold color with a thin bone white head that dissipates quickly to a wispy film. Sticky strings of lace. Aroma of herbal hop, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of herbal hops, grapefruit and bready malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Above average overall.

Can shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a hazy gold with a finger of white foam that lingers. Juicy mango forward nose with some herbal and bright citrus zest and pith notes. Juicy palate with more citrus flesh, mango and pineapple with some dank and peppery rye as it warms. Smooth tropical fruit and pepper on the finish.

Taster at Binny's, North Riverside. Stands out as an IPA with a lot of extra business going on. The nose has some fruity hops to it. Pours a deep golden color, with a little foam. Taste is not the standard palate-blasting American IPA of the day, but a good mix of malt spiciness, warm ferment fruitiness and the tropical notes of American hops in interesting configurations.

16 oz. can from a trade. Clearly the best I have had from this brewery. (Visited in Nov, 2017) grapefruit juice appearance. Thick foam on top the liquid. Good flavor; Tropical, floral, herb. Mild juice. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. (Of course fucking lactose sugar was used. Seems to be ALL the rage in 2018!) No bitterness at all. I would be more impressed if lactose sugar was not used in the recipe.

Tap at FR. The first Rye NE IPA I have encountered. Solid offering. Cool and crisp, the rye works quite well here. Juicy, bright Amarillo citra-ish tones. Really well done. Modern. Great.
