Large white frothy head left a rocky cover on an unclear still golden body. Heavily spiced aroma with cinnamon, roast, cigarette & lactose. Medium bodied, smooth on the palate with a short soft back & sticky aft. Cigarettes, vanilla, fruity, bread, faint spirits & spiced tasted with light citrussy finish.

Can. Color: Slightly hazy pale golden, white head. Aroma: Sweetish, vanilla, Bourbon and mocha hints. Taste: Sweetish, creamy, malty with notes of vanilla and hints of Bourbon and mocha. Medium sweet, light to moderate bitterness. Medium body, below average carbonation. White Stout is a gimmick in my opinion but if you decide to brew one, at least let it have some Stout flavours, not only faint mocha. Overall I'm a bit confused how to rate this beer. It's not bad, mainly because of the Bourbon BA I think, but I expected more. It's a bit boring, not what I expected from New Holland. No need to drink this beer once again.

Very weak interpretation of an already problematic style; lives up to detractors (like me) who consider White Stout to be fancy wording for chocolate golden ale. Mild, grainy malt on the front, semisweet, somewhat artificial chocolate on the back, nary a bit of bourbon barrel aging to be found. Not much else going on here; I'd expect New Holland at least to do something interesting with the concept, but no.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 3/4/2019. Pours very hazy deep golden/amber/light orange color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of milk/white chocolate, cocoa, medium roast coffee, honey, caramel, toffee, vanilla, cream, bourbon, toasted oak, nuts, biscuit, and white bread dough/crust; with lighter notes of coconut, fruit, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/oak earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of cocoa, coffee, vanilla, bready malts, and moderate bourbon barrel notes; with solid strength. Taste of big milk/white chocolate, cocoa, medium roast coffee, honey, caramel, toffee, vanilla, cream, bourbon, toasted oak, nuts, biscuit, and white bread dough/crust; with lighter notes of coconut, fruit, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness; and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/white chocolate, cocoa, medium roast coffee, honey, caramel, toffee, vanilla, cream, bourbon, toasted oak, nuts, biscuit, white bread dough/crust, coconut, fruit, herbal, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of cocoa, coffee, vanilla, bready malts, and moderate bourbon barrel flavors; with a great malt/bitterness, and bourbon/oak spiciness balance; with no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/tannic mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol or lingering barrel booze for 6%. Overall this is a very nice barrel aged white stout. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of cocoa, coffee, vanilla, bready malts, and moderate bourbon barrel flavors; very smooth and easy to dink with the mellowly bitter/tannic/drying finish. Well balanced bready oats/malts, cocoa, fruity/nutty coffee, and vanilla flavors; with nice overall barrel presence/integration, and balancing earthy hops. A very enjoyable offering, and well executed style example. Expected more from it, but it will satisfy a craving for a session-able BBA brew for a good price.

Hazy, light gold. Not much aroma, a bit of peach? Initially, white chocolate dominates the taste, but that fades after a few sips. Very mild coffee finish. Think it would be a good beer with food.
