(Bottle, 0.33 l, at Pikkulintu, Helsinki, 20110422) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, molasses and mildly roastedness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, herbalness, malts, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty and bitter. A flawless brew that lacked all the edges that would have made the beer more interesting and better.

(Bottle) Reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of caramel, dark bread, chocolate, ryvita and spicy hops. Malty, toasty taste with dark bread, caramel, ryvita, wort and dark fruit. Some citrussy hops shine through in a fairly spicy and fresh finish. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Hops are a bit toned down compared to other versions of Kalasöl, giving way to bready malt and wort. Quite nice.
