Developed after reflecting on youthful dalliances of yore, Panther Cub is a small porter aged in a combo of BLiS maple syrup bourbon barrels and regular bourbon barrels. This fierce cat has been aging in barrels for over two years with whole vanilla beans (just for fun). Tasty maple and vanilla notes plus surprisingly deep character make this rare special release one to look upon fondly.

Unglaublich aromatisches Dessertbier mit gefährlich hoher Drinkability. Vanille, Bourbon, sehr süffig süß, spät Schokolade, komplex im Abgang, sehr sehr lecker.

Bottle (1/29/21) pour from Table and Vine, W. Springfield. It's an opaque black with nice sparkle, finger-plus width beige head with good retention and nice soapy lacing. Aroma is moderately strong sweet malts, vanilla, maple syrup and bourbon. Taste mirrors aroma but bourbon is higher in the mix. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, creamy texture, average carbonation, mildest of alcohol warmth and finish as taste. Overall, nice complexity and balance. Perhaps a little thin but high marks for delivering exactly what they said they wanted. Not too sweet but aroma and taste could be a little bolder.

Pours black into a tulip. Tan head with excellent retention recedes leaving scant sheets. Dark chocolate, vanilla and bourbon aromas. Thick with sweet maple, vanilla and bourbon upfront turning to hot caramel and burnt bourbon barrel in the dry, lasting finish.

Bottle from Beer Hop. It pours darkest brown to black with a thick deep tan head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, chocolate donuts, maple syrup, cookie dough, massive vanilla, bourbon soaked oak, cake frosting, dull roast, caramel, mars bar and fudge. The taste is initially dry roast, bitter - sweet, then it gets sweeter, chewy, thick chocolate, chocolate cake, big vanilla, nougat, cake frosting, mars bar, light umami, bourbon soaked oak, maple glazed donuts, cookie dough, nip of spice and not much of that alcohol at all. Medium to fulsome body and fine, prickly carbonation. All comes together well. Aroma in particular stands out. What I expected, which is pretty great.

Wonderful beer. Excellent balance. Light vanilla, light barrel, and lots of roast. A hint of caramel. Velvety texture. Maple syrup is pretty light. Black pour with great head and lacing. Bittersweet finish. Coffee, leather. Bottle.

Black with a medium sized foamy brown head that left good lacing. Sweet malty, and a bit roasty with vanilla, coconut and whiskey notes. Very long finish. Full bodied.
