Bubbly, dry, crisp, and refreshing, Brut IPA is inspired by our favorite sparkling wines. With hints of tropical fruits and champagne, this effervescent brew is the perfect cheers to the New Year.

$2.00 bottle. Beer Run. Here's the 8th or so to a (mostly) successful day worked up to from a year of hell. Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma is lemon rind, white grape, light yeast. Flavor is lemon rind, white grape, yeast, green grass, dust, envelope glue.

Very basic, no-frills interpretation of the style, with light cracker-ish malts and modest corn sweetness dusted with traces of mango and grapefruit. Not particularly dry, not particularly reminiscent of anything Brut, really, but decent, in a boring New Belgium sort of way. I guess theyβre saving the better version for their Voodoo series.

Bottle from Craft Brewed. Pours a clear gold. Dry mineral water aromas with some light grassy hops I suppose and dry yeast nose. Spritzy carbonation, light grain...surprisingly no real taste though. Mineral water, maybe some dry yeast character. Nondescript hops and just super dry...bordering astringent. This is not good and not like others I've enjoyed in this style. Finding very little to like here.

Pour is a crystal clear golden with a large fluffy white head. Aroma is mostly some dull pale malt with a very minor citrus hop. Flavor is just a dry bitterness. No real hops stand out at all other then the bitterness. Kind of watery after that. Not a real good rep of the style and a style I'm not really a fan of.

OK, another notorious IPA from a bottle. Pour is clear pale yellah. Foamy head. Taste its sharp and rubbery, mouth coating fresh resinous hops. Thinner yet its still coats the palate. Yes, impressive vegetable hops. In the end its almost refreshing but it finishes with that rubbery veggie thang, you know, like session IPA but with a little more alky kick.

12 ounce bottle into signature globe glass, bottled on 11/16/2018. Pours fairly crystal clear pale golden yellow color with 2 finger dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, white grape/wine, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, onion, mint, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, white grape/wine, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, onion, mint, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, white grape/wine, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, onion, mint, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.7%. Overall this is an excellent brut IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and pretty refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish, not aggressive. Huell Melon, Nelson Sauvin, Azzaca, Citra, & Amarillo. Great mix of vibrant, dank, and earthy hop complexity; nice solid pale malt backbone, with no residual sweetness from crisp resin dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Super crisp and pale golden, like the colour of a white wine, this has a small, single centimetre tall head that fades relatively quickly. Aroma of white grapes, some light yeast, biscuits, a dose of vinifera grapes and then some more white grape juice - quite strong in the nose, and nothing like a typical IPA - or hops - for that matter. Light-bodied; Sharp pungent drying grape flavour that shows the white grape juice, some mellow guava and kumquat notes with some larger citrus, like curacao and a sprinkle of white grapefruit as well. Aftertaste shows the dry grassy elements at first with a larger flavour of grapes, some mellow fruity sweetness, a touch of very mellow malts and finishes with an elegant dry bite - fairly reminiscent of champagne, as the beer name implies. Overall, a nice and respectable beer that shows something slightly different, but is fairly far removed from being an IPA at all. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from the Food Pantry [express] on Kuhio in Waikiki, Honolulu, O'ahu on 26-December-2018 for US$10,88/six pack sampled the day after arriving to celebrate Christmas here on the Islands, on 27-December-2018.
